Studio Colour Mixing
Studio colour mixing is available in all modes, click on
> Show > Studio Colour Mixing to enable it. This modes adds powerful features such as the ability to limit fixture colours to a selected colour gamut, and selectable white points.Fixture Modes
Kino Flo and other studio lighting manufacturers recommend that you use XY control of colour. Instead of controlling the emitter levels directly you send the X and Y coordinates of a colour using DMX and the fixture selects the best combination of emitters to achieve that colour. The QuickQ colour system has been designed to control fixtures in such modes.
White Point Control
The white point can be set using the Colour Temperature and Green/Magenta faders, and the buttons underneath. Pressing the buttons underneath the faders brings up a pop up menu with some preset white points and useful colour temperatures and green/magenta settings.
Pressing DEF or DEF White will set the selected fixtures to the white point. DEF does not use the default palette when using Studio Colour Mixing.
Be aware that D65 is slightly green and not exactly 6500K.

Selectable Colour Gamut
The colour wheel (and the HUE and SAT controls) can be limited to work within a gamut. Usually they are limited to the gamut of the first selected fixture, however a menu in the top right hand corner of the screen allows other gamuts such as sRGB, Display P3 and rec2020 to be used.
Colour Wheel
The centre colour of the colour wheel is the White Point, the colour wheel will change as the white point changes. The SAT control can be used to fade between a selected saturated colour and the selected white point. The colour wheel shows the whole of the current colour gamut and will dim parts that the first selected fixture is not capable of showing.
CIE1931 Chromaticity Diagram
Studio Colour Mixing adds a CIE1931 Chromaticity diagram alongside the colour wheel. Tapping the CIE1931 image will expand it and shrink the colour wheel, tapping the colour wheel will restore it. When a fixture is selected the colours that the fixture is able to show are highlighted in the diagram. A black triangle marks the colour space of the colour wheel. The triangle will change when different colour gamuts are selected. Clicking on the diagram will set the fixtures to the closest match to the selected colour.
