constant stuttering

Postby Sevrien » Tue Jun 16, 2015 8:48 am

Hello,

All of a sudden every media I play seems to have errors when playing it full window or full screen.
On resized (smaller) window size, all works fine. It doesn't matter if i use the standalone MagicHD or the inbuilt PC version.
I tried different output resolutions, HDMI-out and VGA out but without succes.
I'm using the latest beta version.

Any clues?

Did you find the answer to this?
I am experiencing this at the moment with some clips on a new machine...
Any help would be appreciated.

Everything depends on the performance of the graphics card!

I have now tried every setting on my Nvidea GEforce GTX.
Still experiencing stuttering.
Laptop has i7.6700HQ. 2.60ghz. 7.8g ram.
Help, or do I need to run video from a dedicated separate laptop?

That's always best, did you use latest beta v1.8.3.1?

yes using latest 1.8.3 version of software, perhaps laptops are just not powerful enough
even though this is a Dell Inspiron 7559.

It encodes the video in a format with the codec MagicHD can read.

so the files end up as .mkv files.

is it best to convert these first using video software, or does this not make any difference??

converting via MagicHD or MagicQ v1.8.3.1 or higher is Ok. No need for other software conversion.

It seems the best solution is to run the media server on a dedicated machine, so processing is focused on the video.
