Thats what we THINKis the easy way. And beleive me i have rotated my ass off.
If pan is wrong and rotating, then tilt will become wrong!

In the head file itself you can also invert pan or tilt. If it doesn't help, you can report it in the bugtracker.

Wondering if you were ever able to resolve this issue. I am having similar problem with to yoke fixtures
from ADJ the Inno Spot LED and the LED Beam 12. No matter how I orient the fixture I cannot get the visualizer to display matching projection. I also send the signal to Capture visualizer and it works properly matching the visualizer and the live fixture.

Just in tjis once a year and there is always something new that has happened during the year. Last week when i installed latest version most everything in the visualizer was flipped or mirrored. So i gues sthere have been a major cleanup in this part.
Will use same fixtures this year so in a month i have an answer..

Check them in the venue and if it is wrong in Capture or MagicVis, then let Capture or Chamsys know. They will fix it in the next release of the library (mostly the same day).

But in both softwares you can invert pan/tilt. Most of the time it is is not specified in the manual of a fixture!

I have only worked with 3 different yoked fixtures so this may not apply to all, but for those few it was not a matter of inverting Pan/Tilt. In all three cases the referenced DMX center Pan/Tilt live puts the yoke perpindicular to the LED display for the fixture. I use that LED display as reference and the only way I could figure out how to ensure the live installation is in the same position as the visualizer. The default for the library entries for Capture with DMX center Pan/Tilt puts the yoke parallel with the LED display, so no matter how you twist, turn, invert, flip you can't get the visualizer to match the live fixture performance. For MQ I think I did get it to work at some point, but you still have no reference for setting up the fixture at the event since there is no distinguishing markings on the fixture model to reference for installation, e.g. don't know front from back.

SOLUTION:
I'm posting because this is still the top hit when you google the problem.

In the head editor, View General > Params > Pan/Tilt invert.

Inverted tilt or pan in visualizer

Postby Timothyhib » Sat Mar 09, 2019 10:20 pm

Update: Following a factory reset, the pan/tilt response time for my DCS-5010L increased to 1-3 seconds, which is a marked increase for the better over what I was previously observing.

So my visualizer was working ok, but no rotating gobos, I updated (corrected the fixed gobos) then morphed the heads into my show. Now my pan in the visualizer is reversed. Tilt is ok.

The original hed file I created from a Chauvet 260 led spot I think.

The new file was a Venturelite Carma 16ch
My fixture is a Songxu MH-90.
