Debian 6.0.5 & Ubuntu 12.04

Postby Frankiewizard » Wed May 16, 2012 3:47 pm

I have installed Magicq 1.5.4.0 on a Debian platform & a Ubuntu Platform. I am getting the same problems when I open up the simple generic console all the faders respond but the 6 & 7 stick the console stops responding. The processor goes skyhigh.

When I launch magicq in the terminal I get this:-

XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0"
after 143651 requests (78626 known processed) with 158 events remaining.

Version of X of Debian is :- X.Org X Server 1.7.7

Is there something I missed ?

Cheers

I have been testing 1.5.6.1 and 1.5.6.2 on a very minimal Xubuntu 12.04 installation on my netbook.

When using my E1.31 to DMX interface I have absolutely no problem - the system was up for 48 hours with 1.5.6.1 and 24 hours with 1.5.6.2 (but still running).

When I have a USB interface connected, I've been testing with a MagicDMX, MagicQ crashes very often.

I also had problems with previous versions of MagicQ on my nettop and an Enttec Pro (but as that's embedded in my flightcase I haven't been testing with it).

I've not seen the error you posted, though. The ones I've been seeing have been posted on the bug tracker.

I'd suggest raising a ticket there http://download.magicq.co.uk/

Well I spent the day installing Xubuntu 11.10, it lôôks good everything is like before software lôôks great but faders 6 & 7 stick on the normal console and the only way to get out of this squize is Alt &F4. Are you people sure that Chamsys magicQ works on a LinuX system ?

Hardware is a Toshiba Qosmio G20 2GB's of Ram. EntteC Pro Box. Running on Ubuntu 12.04 - Xubuntu 11.10 & windows xp.

Yes,it works i have it here running on Xubuntu 11.10, just a clean install, connecting a MagicQ wing and works fine. Nothing to install except the Xubuntu itself. We run it on a Shuttle X50V2 Touch PC.
