triggering a fade

Postby robotmonkeytank » Mon Jul 04, 2016 3:03 pm

wondered if anyone could help

i want to trigger a light to fade up with a single midi note, then fade down with another midi note.
could anyone suggest a solution using the MIDI autom events?

I've got a method to fade individual lights using the autom events by sending different midi velocities, but unfortunately increasing midi volume by 1 step, increases the fade by 2 steps (im guessing because midi has 127 value, whilst dmx has 255 values). is there anyway of mapping the midi directly to the dmx fade? so i can get a smooth fade.

You can do it with Stack Activate en Stack release in the automation window and set a fade in and release time in the cue stack. Velocity can not be mapped to fade time.
