The encoders in the Colour Window are not shown on the Remote App. Instead the faders can be used to control the attributes that are controlled by encoders on the console.
Bug Fixes
Fix issue where the intensity fader did not show the intensity of multi element fixtures properly. #0039197
v10.0
With QuickQ v10 software you can now:
Easily program strobe looks and individual colour faders.
Quickly set up ArtNet nodes including the new GeNetix range.
It is now possible to record individual attributes to playbacks and execute items. After pressing Record press Position, Colour or Beam to select which attributes you wish to record into a cue. For example to create a playback that 'strobes' a fixture without affecting any other beam attribute select the fixtures, set them strobing at the required rate then press Record, Beam and select Shutter before selecting a playback to record to. Fixes #26575 and #24672.
The Output Sources Window will now show you when an attribute group is being controlled by more than one playback. An ellipses (...) will appear next to the playback name to show that there is more than one playback controlling the attribute group. When you click the ellipses a popup window will show which attributes are being controlled by what playbacks.
Network Devices Window
QuickQ v10 has a new window for managing network devices such as 10Scene Gateways, SnakeSys nodes and 3rd party ArtNet and sACN devices. The old 10Scene Gateways Window has been removed as it is replaced by the new window.
The Network Devices Window is accessed from the main menu. At the top is a list of the devices that QuickQ has discovered. When a device is clicked more details will appear in the window. The name, IP address and subnet of the device can be set along with the device name if the device supports it.
The device can be configured to receive data from QuickQ by pressing the Configure Device button. If the unit cannot be configured remotely it will display a warning. The DMX outputs from QuickQ will be configured automatically if they are not already. The device's IP address will also be set to one that works with QuickQ, if possible.
Alternatively QuickQ can be reconfigured to match the settings of the device by pressing Configure QuickQ for this Device. It can also upload new firmware to SnakeSys devices and the 10Scene Gateway.
Other QuickQ consoles on the network will also appear in the Network Devices Window. You can "grab" the show from the other console and load it onto your console with the Grab Show button. If a QuickQ Rack is in the network and configured to allow other consoles to take over you can use Configure QuickQ for Device to configure your console to takeover the Rack outputs.
The Network Devices Window does not work with the Pathport protocol. If a DMX output is set to Pathport it will not be changed.
If a device does not appear in the window then it may be that it is on a different IP subnet, or that it does not respond to ArtNet poll messages. It may also be that there is a problem with the network cabling.
Edit Cue
It is now possible to edit cues once they have been recorded. Click Action then select a cue or a playback and press the Edit Cue button. The cue will be loaded into the programmer and can be changed. Once you are finished press Update to record the edited cue.
Flash Acts as Go Option
It is now possible to use a flash button as a GO button for a playback. This makes it easier to step through different cue stacks at the same time. The option can be set per Cue Stack.
Emergency Triggers
The 10Scene Contact Events Window has a new Emergency trigger type. When a contact is turns "On and Off" is can trigger the "Emergency" playback or execute. This is most useful when used with Hot Takeover as the console will reassert control in order to turn the emergency scene on.
In order to reassert control the "Takeover uses a different universe" option must be switched on in the DMX Settings Window, and a different universe chosen. The external console outputs on those universes and the console will copy the data to the actual output. When the Emergency trigger is activated the console will stop copying data and instead output it's own data.
Better Gel Colours
The gel colours in the Colour Window are now based on the output from a 750W ERS Profile at 100%. The number of gels has been increased and there is an extra gel catalogue. For accurate reproduction of colours QuickQ needs the emitter data for the fixture. When patching a colour icon next to the Mode name indicates that there is data for that fixture.
Unused Cue Stacks Window
The Unused Cue Stacks Window now supports rearranging the Cue Stacks. You can Drag'n'drop the Cue Stacks and drop Playbacks into place. You can also use the Move Action to move Cue Stacks into a specific place.
User Interface Changes
The main menu has been rearranged to make it easier to find commonly used windows.
The timezone button now displays the offset of the timezone selected.
The buttons in the Network Devices Window have been moved around. The Configure Device and Configure QuickQ For Device buttons remain where they are while the Update Firmware and Grab Show buttons have been moved to the bottom of the window. The buttons all remain in the same place and are greyed out when not needed instead of disappearing. This should make them easier to find.
When the fixture has a colour temperature channel with ranges the encoder will show the calculated Kelvin value as well as the ranges.
The 10Scene Gateways Window has been removed. Configuration of 10Scene Gateways can now be done in the new Network Devices Window.
The playback displays at the bottom of the touchscreen are now animated, making it easier to see how cue stacks and chases are advancing.
When a layout group is selected, group lines will appear. The user can still set the group lines flag and the group lines will stay when the group is not selected. The intensity of the lines will be determined by the LINES flag and if the groups are selected.
In the Intensity Window multi-touch control has been added allowing more than one fader to be controlled at the same time. 10 fingers can control 10 faders at the same time.
The DMX Settings Window now warns if 2 universes are set to the same network universe.
The DMX Settings Windows warns if the DMX configuration will not work with emergency actions when they are in use.
The Output Sources Window now shows the fixture number as well as the name.
When just attributes or effects have been recorded onto a playback with no intensities pressing the flash button will act as though the fader has been set to full.

v9.0 Stable
New Features
Better Colour Mixing QuickQ can now automatically use all the emitters in a fixture for better, richer colours.
Unused Cue Stacks Move Cue Stacks onto the new Unused Cue Stacks Windows to make space for more programming.
More Events New events have been added to the Events Window. Trigger playbacks when the console is switched on or off or dim the lights when the sun goes down.
Better Layouts The group lines features allows you to see which fixtures and in a group, and the new swipe to select gesture allows you to select fixtures faster.
Outputs The Outputs Window has a new tab which shows how each fixture is being controlled.
RDM Patching fixtures and changing modes is now even easier and faster.
Colour Mixing
There is a new colour mixing mode which uses all the LED emitters in a fixture to mix a colour. In the Settings Windows select Show -> Use All Emitters, then select some LED fixtures and open the colour window. Selecting a colour on the colour wheel or by using the HUE and SAT encoders will adjust all the emitters, including White, Amber and UV. A warning is displayed if QuickQ does not have enough data on the fixture to be able to match colours accurately.
In the new 'All Emitters' colour mix mode it is possible to set the colour to a colour found on a website or by using a colour picker app. Click on the 'sRGB Colour' button then enter the HTML colour code to set a colour. The colours are specified in the sRGB colour space so they will match the colour you see on your phone or laptop.
Unused Cue Stacks Window
There is a new Unused Cue Stacks Window. You can move Cue Stacks from the playbacks into the Unused Cue Stacks Window, and use the playback for something else. The unused cue stacks show their name and also the amount of cues that they contain.
Events Window and 10Scene
The Events Window can schedule events to happen at sunrise and sunset. For this to work the console location and timezone must be set in the Console Settings Window. The current sunset and sunrise times are shown at the bottom of the Events Window.
The Events Window can also schedule events to happen when the console is powered on and off. Playbacks and Executes that are turned on by an Event can still be turned off by pressing 'Release All' and can be overridden when programming.
A long press on a 10Scene panel button will fade the scene down, and second long press will fade the scene up again.
Layout Window
'Group Lines' have been added to the Layout Window. If you want to see visually which fixtures are part of a group you can Press, Action then select the group and press 'Lines'. That will draw lines between the group and all the fixtures in the group. You could create a group of all the fixtures pointing at a person or a point on stage, the lines will show which fixtures are focused on the person.
Multiple items can now be selected in the Layout Window. When the view is locked you can select Groups and Fixtures in the Layout Window by dragging your finger through them. You can also select Groups and Fixtures in the top bar by a two finger gesture moving the fingers apart along the items to be selected.
Group Icons will now be removed from the Layout Window when the group is empty.
Output Sources Window
The new Output 'Sources Tab' allows users to see what is controlling their Fixtures. The table displays the fixture name and shows which playback is controlling which attributes. When the fixture is being programmed it will show the selected palette.
Patch Window
You can now keep unpatched fixtures in the patch. Unpatched fixtures do not have a DMX address. They can still be programmed into cues and palettes however they can not be controlled until their DMX address is set.
In the patch window, you can unpatch by universe. This allows you to remove an entire universe of fixtures instead of having to unpatch fixtures individually.
The 'Add Fixtures' dialog indicates if the fixture data has the emitter data required by the new All Emitters colour mixing. Fixtures and modes with the data have a colour wheel icon displayed next to them.
QuickQ will show an RDM logo next to the Fixture Number when the fixture is responding to RDM. You can press RDM Autopatch to connect to the fixtures, even if they are already patched. If the RDM logo is dimmed it means that the fixture has not responded, maybe because it has been disconnected.
Tap the RDM logo to pop up some information about the fixture. The data comes from the fixture itself.
A long press on the RDM logo will cause the fixture to 'identify' itself by turning on and maybe moving around.
You can now easily change the mode of a fixture once it has been patched. In the Patch Window a long press on a Mode will open a dialog box with a list of modes for that fixture. You can choose to set the mode of just that fixture or all the fixtures of that model. If you are using RDM then QuickQ can change the mode on the fixture as well.
The DMX Address Dialog will also allow you to use RDM to change the DMX address of the fixture.
More New Features
You can now load '.shw' and '.sbk' files from the file manager. Files that are able to be loaded are displayed with a green icon next to them.
You can now save the logs to a USB device from within the application.
Users can now remove names for any item that can be renamed in QuickQ, including Fixture Name, Cue Names and Cue Stack Names.
Users can now choose to have Fixture Fader LEDs not mimic the colour that the fixture is emitting as well as not mimicking Groups and Cues. The original settings are still available to the user.
User Interface Changes
More Drag and Drop
Palettes can be rearranged using drag and drop. A long push on a palette button will put the console into action mode with the palette selected, then dragging it will cause the palette to be moved to a new position.
You can also Drag and drop Cue Faders in the Cue Faders Window, Playbacks on the Playbacks Bar, and items in the Execute Window. Cue Stacks can be dragged between Playbacks Bar and the Cue Faders Window, the Execute Window or the new Unused Cue Stacks Window.
Other User Interface Changes
You can now press the link between Execute Items to break the link or join the items together. The old method using the Action menu has been removed.
The file sorting is now done via a drop down menu within the File Manager Window. This allows for files to be sorted by name, size or date added.
Press the Audio In meter on the tool bar to see a larger VU meter.
Warnings are now shown when setting the IP address and subnet mask in the Wired Network Settings Window. The user is still free to set any IP address but warnings will be shown if the chosen IP address may cause problems.
Macros in the Execute Window now have their own menu. The menu contains Lamp On, Lamp Off and Reset All Fixtures.
In the Cue Stack Window the options and Change Type button have moved from the main menu to the bottom of the window.
The Pan and Tilt Speed attribute setting has moved from the Beam Window to the Position Window and can now be controlled via the top right encoder when on the Position Window.
On the Layout Window, Fixture and Group Items have an increased border size for user visibility.
When you are recording to palettes or groups the add button will no longer overlay the palettes behind, allowing you to record to palettes without pressing the item behind the add button.
In the Cue Stack Window, the spacing between the options at the bottom of the window have been increased and the release time now is edited in a dialog box.
The intensity value on Fixture Items has been increased in size to improve visibility.

v8.0 Stable
New Features
QuickQ can now play audio files in cue stacks. The Cue Stack Window has a button which when pressed reveals the Audio File column. Clicking on that will allow an audio file to be imported onto the console that will be played when the cue is triggered.
An audio output VU meter has been added to the top Toolbar. Tap it to change the volume of the output or mute it. The meter will show a muted icon when the output is muted.
The bottom right encoder can be used to adjust intensities of selected fixtures in the Layout Window, #27092.
The Intensity Window now has encoders to control the Intensity and the Intensity Mode attributes. This allows control of smoke machine fans from the window, #23636. The intensity encoder is only present on consoles with encoders.
The Effects Window now allows control of crossfade of effects. This allows snap changes or smooth fades or anything in between, opening up a whole new range of creative possibilities. #19566, #26638
The Effects Window has also gained direction controls. Effects can run backwards across a selection, from the centre out or in a random order. #26695
QuickQ can now check continuously for new RDM fixtures and patch them as soon as they are connected.
The new RigLock feature automatically changes RDM enabled fixtures' mode and DMX address back when they are changed.
The Blackout button on the console can now be used to set the speed of chases and effects. Once the settings has been enabled in the Settings Window you can hold down the Blackout button and tap a flash button or execute item to set it's speed.
You can now set the timezone that the console is in. This means that scheduled events will respect Daylight Savings Time when required. The timezone can be set to UTC to keep the old behaviour. A factory reset will set the timezone back to UTC.
The Offline visualiser has an improved Design Mode making it easier to position fixtures and objects. Objects can easily be added, positioned, rotated and removed, while fixtures can be attached to trusses and pipes and arranged along them.
The effects engine now supports palette effects. You can select up to 4 palettes to use in an palette effect and they will be spread across the fixtures as with other effects. When a 2 palette effect is selected the Size control will become a Width control opening up even more creative possibilities.
The new Cue Faders Window allows you to see the names and state of the Cues that are saved onto the Multi Function Faders. Cues can be renamed and moved from the window. The window can be placed on the external monitor. The Cue Faders Window is not available on the QuickQ Rack.
You can now jump to a cue on a playback using MIDI. Sending a C3(48) MIDI note on channel 1 with the cue number as the level will cause playback 1 to jump to that cue. You can control all 10 playbacks on a QuickQ 20, 30 or Rack using notes 48-58. Note that you can only jump to whole numbered cues and only up to cue 127 due to limitations of the MIDI protocol.
User Interface Changes
The bank buttons in the Intensity Window are now tabs at the top of the window. When more then 20 fixtures are patched you can swipe right and left to move to their faders. The intensity of the fixture is displayed on the fixture select button when it is changed.
The buttons at the top of the Settings Window have been replaced by tabs to make it easier to explore the different groups of settings. You can switch between settings screens by swiping sideways.
The User Interface tab has been renamed Console.
The VU meters showing the incoming audio levels have been moved onto the Toolbar so it is always clear when audio is being received and played.
The 'RDM Auto Patch' option has been moved from the menu onto a button in the window.
There is a new RDM tab in the DMX Settings tab where the RigLock and continuous RDM scan options may be found.
The File Manager window now shows all files and folders. It also shows file sizes and can show the contents of USB Sticks.
When QuickQ is started up for the first time after upgrading the software it will show a notification offering to show these change notes.
The Events Window help message now explains that QuickQ will adjust for daylight savings time. If the timezone is set to 'UTC' (the default) the message will explain how to set the timezone.
Move actions now give clearer messages when they will not work, and should no longer fail silently.
You can now change directories in the File Manager window.
When the 'Newly created playbacks are chases' option was set a single cue on a playback would have chase timing, not cue timing. This is now fixed. #26527
The QR code PDF documents now have a smaller QR code and extra helpful text.
Bug Fixes
Selecting a group then recording to a playback without setting any attributes would cause that fader to control the intensities of the group until the console was restarted. This behaviour has now been fixed and a blank cue will be recorded instead.
QuickQ now resets Cue Stack rates to default when loading shows from MagicQ.
Items dragged too close to the edge could not be dragged back onto the screen in the Layout Window. #27937

v7.0 Stable
New Features
USB Keyboards can now be used with QuickQ Consoles and the QuickQ Rack.
The Remote App can now control Playbacks. Press the Playbacks button on the top bar to show the playbacks, then press it again to see the faders.
When the Remote App is connected without using the QRCode the user will be required to enter the WiFi password. This only needs to be done once.
In QuickQ Designer show files can be loaded from anywhere on the PC by clicking the Use OS File Dialog button in the Load Show File dialog.
On the PC version of the Remote App show files, head files and installers can be loaded from the PC onto the Console.
User Interface Changes
The WiFi indicator on the top bar now shows how many Remote Apps are connected. The indicator is also shown on the Remote App.
The playbacks now indicate when the level of the playback does not match the position of the fader. This can happen when a remote control protocol changes the level. Previously the level shown was the level of the fader, now it shows the received level and on the console it flashes if the level differs from the position of the fader.

Fix the crossfade fader in Theatre Mode, this was broken in v6.2.
Fix Console reset when the new TouchOSC App is running on the network.
v6.2 Stable
User Interface Changes
Executes now override the intensities of the fixtures that they are controlling. This is to allow 'dipless crossfades' in 10Scene installations. Usually fixture intensities are controlled using the 'Highest Takes Precedence' rule, however the rules have been changed slightly so that if an Execute is triggered which sets a fixture's intensity lower than a fader playback the fixture will go to that new lower level instead of remaining at the higher level.
The network switches in the 10Scene Settings Window are now greyed out on QuickQ Designer. The Enable Rack Sockets option is only active on the QuickQ Rack, it is greyed out on other consoles.
Ten Scene Zone QR Code PDF's can now be saved to USB using the Remote App.
Bug Fixes
There is now no need to send a MIDI note off after sending a MIDI note on in order to press GO. Previously you had to send a MIDI note off between every MIDI note on message in order to step through a cue stack. This is no longer necessary.

v6.0 Stable
10Scene Window
QuickQ v6 adds full support for the SnakeSys 10Scene system. The new 10Scene Window allows users to configure 10Scene wall panels, gateways and zones.
10Scene Panel
The new 10Scene Panel tab allows users to emulate a wall panel in any of the 10 zones, or control all of them.
Contact Events
Each of the four 10Scene connectors on the back of the QuickQ Rack has a contact pin that can be configured to trigger an Execute or Playback or join two zones together so that the Wall Panels for both zones control the lights in both zones.
Gateways
The Gateways tab can be used to connect extra 10Scene wall panels to a QuickQ Console or Rack. Each Gateway has two 10Scene sockets and can control contacts 1 & 2. The firmware on the Gateway can be upgraded from the Gateways tab.
Settings
The 10Scene system can be configured from the 10Scene Settings tab. Connections to gateways and the buttons on the QuickQ Rack can be enabled in the Settings tab, and the 10Scene mode can be selected. When zoned control is selected the zones can be joined in this window.
There are also buttons that allow the zone of each 10Scene wall panel to be set.
Remote Control
QuickQ now has much expanded remote control possibilities. There is a new Protocols tab in the Network Settings where Ethernet Remote Control and Open Sound Control can be turned on and off. There is also a log of messages that have been received.
Playbacks and 10Scene zones can be controlled by the OSC protocol. All the commands available from the Ethernet Remote protocol are also available from OSC. QuickQ can receive commands and also provide feedback to OSC applications such as TouchOSC
Ethernet Remote Control
The Ethernet Remote Protocol has had some new commands added. Using the protocol it is possible to:
Set levels on Playbacks
Go and PausePlaybacks
Jump to a cue on a Playback
Press a button on a 10Scene wall panel.
MIDI Control
MIDI can be used to start, stop, Go, Pause and set levels on playbacks. QuickQ now uses the velocity of a note to set the level of a playback. A note from the next octave (starting at note 72) will press Go on a playback, while a note on the next octave (note 84 onwards) will press Pause on a playback.
New Features
It is now possible to edit fade times of Executes, Playbacks and Cues directly, without using the Cue Stack Window. It is also possible to set times on multiple cues at once. Select Fade Times in the Action menu to edit the times.
It is now possible to set release times of Playbacks and Executes. In previous versions the Fade Out time has been used as the release time, now it is a separate parameter. Release times can be edited from the Fade Times Action Dialog.
The Files Window has a new Load Show and Console Settings button. This will set the DMX networking, 10Scene mode and other console settings as they were when the show file was saved. The button is only available when the Access Level is set to Admin.
User interface changes
The 6 Dots button is now labelled Action.
There were some mentions of Heads instead of Fixtures. These have now all been changed to Fixtures.
The Settings Window now has a separate tab for remote protocols. The UI for setting the console IP address has been improved.
Fixtures in the Layout window show their intensity as a number as well as a bar graph.
Groups in the Layout Window now have more space to show more text.
Bug Fixes
Fix for connecting the Android Remote App using a manual IP address on a device with mobile data.
Fix text on Apple Silicon(M1) Macs.
QuickQ v5 set the release time on playbacks as well as executes. This could cause unexpected behaviour when the fader was pulled down quickly. Release times are now set explicitly in the Fade Times Dialog. #26543
The New Show dialog now shows a warning if the show has not been saved yet.
Fix 10Scene QR code save dialog to use wired IP address if WiFi is disabled.
The size of the Execute Grid is limited to 10x10. Shows created in MagicQ and loaded into QuickQ will have the grid truncated to 10x10 if they were larger.
Fix some issues where the Remote App would disconnect when switching access levels.
Fix patching RGB VDIM fixture on Windows

10Scene Wall Panels
QuickQ v4 introduces support for the ChamSys 10Scene wall panel system. The 10Scene wall panel has 10 buttons which can control the first 10 items on the execute page. If the Execute grid size is set to 10x1 then there is an option in the menu to view how the 10Scene panel will be laid out. Setting the access level to operator will make the Home page the 10Scene view.
Hot Takeover
Other consoles can take control of the lighting rig from QuickQ using ArtNet, sACN or PathPort. If Allow other consoles to control this universe is switched on in the DMX Settings Window then when QuickQ detects incoming data it will relinquish control and output the received DMX data from the DMX ports. When the external console is disconnected QuickQ will return to controlling the lighting rig as normal. When QuickQ has relinquished control it displays an icon in the toolbar.
Fixture Library Updates
It is now possible to update the whole fixture library supplied with QuickQ. Download the heads.all file from www.chamsys.co.uk and copy it onto a USB stick, then go to the Files window in QuickQ and click on Install Fixture Library File. Select the file and the fixture library will be installed onto the console. To revert back to the installed fixture library click on Remove User Fixture Files. The release date of the installed fixture library is shown in the Files window. New releases of QuickQ include the fixture library that was current on the day the software was released.
Other New Features
Take more control with QuickQ. When a playback is recorded with no intensity information the fader will fade in all attributes and effects. This makes 'fly out' effects easy to achieve, and allows quick control of effects sizes.

The Update window has been redesigned in order to make it clearer. If the software is aware of a new software release it will show a banner at the top of the Update window, and display a notification when the console is powered up.
The console software can now be updated from within the QuickQ application. In the Update window the Update Software button now shows a file chooser dialog allowing users to select a .cdq installer file which will then be installed. The installation can not be stopped once it has started. The software will restart once the installation is successfully completed. This can be done from the Remote App, but the USB stick with the new .cdq file should still be inserted into the console or QuickQ Rack.
Wired network settings can now be changed from the Remote App.

New Features
Access Levels
QuickQ v3 introduces a new feature to lock down console programming. Access Levels can be used to prevent users from making unwanted changes to the show files.
There are 3 access levels, Admin is the default and allows unlimited control of the console, patch and settings. Programmer allows users to program shows but not to change the patch or settings. Operator prevents any changes to the show file, but the show can still be operated as normal. When in the Operator level the home screen changes to the Execute window.
The access level can be changed in the Settings window. The Admin and Programmer access levels can be password protected, and passwords can be changed in the Settings window. The current access level and the passwords are stored in the show file. The user must enter the current Admin password before they can change a password.
When changing to the Operator user the console will be cleared.
Move Fixtures and Playbacks
Playbacks can now be moved onto other faders and onto the Execute window. Items in the Execute Window can also be moved onto Playback faders and Cue faders.

Attribute faders controlling an attribute with ranges now have a tumbler control similar to that in the encoders to select ranges. A long press on the tumbler control will bring up the Ranges window.
Other New Features
Add a new Backup to USB button to the Files window. This saves the current show to a USB drive then performs some checks to ensure that the file has saved successfully. QuickQ will display a message when the file has been saved and it is safe to unplug the USB drive. It is no longer possible to save to USB drives using the Save Show As... button.
Add a button to the Files window that removes old backup files. This will free up hard drive space.
Fixtures and groups in the Layout window can now be lined up to a grid. Unlock the layout then click on Grid to display the grid. When fixtures and groups are moved they will snap to the grid.
QuickQ will now check with the user before changing the addresses of RDM fixtures when doing an RDM autopatch. It also shows a list of the fixtures it has found while performing the auto patch.
QuickQ now remembers what window was on the external monitor when it was shut down and will display the same window the next time it starts up.

The fader LEDs are brighter when the fixture is selected, and dimmer when it is not selected to make it easier to see the difference.
Notification messages now appear at the bottom of the main window above the Playbacks.
A notification message is now displayed after recording. If something new has been created the Name button provides a quick way to name it.

In Theatre Mode lowering a Playback to 0% does not automatically release the cue stack. If a light's intensity is at 0% in a cue then it will automatically be moved into position ready for the next cue. New cues recorded while in Theatre Mode will have a default fade time of 3s.
To turn on Theatre Mode click on Settings in the menu then select Theatre Mode.
